Master Your Breathing for Better Kettlebell Workouts

Yoga gurus and old time strength trainers have always maintained that proper breathing and breath control is the real foundation of all true health and strength. Yet all too few people, even experienced trainers with apparently strong and highly muscular physiques are frequently unaware of the importance of how to breathe properly during their workouts.

Breathing properly while using kettlebells will provide more energy during the lifts and swings, further enhancing the effectiveness of these already brilliant training devices. There are many different methods of breathing during your kettlebell workouts, depending on the particular exercises being performed and the trainer’s level of development, but the real key to all of them is awareness; ie focussing the mind on the breath and learning to harmonise it with the movements of the body. In this way, if concentration is maintained, the body will automatically begin to regulate and control the breath in order to maximise energy output and therefore the effectiveness of your workouts.
